Webinar zum "Software Defined Vehicle"

Alle Autohersteller arbeiten derzeit fieberhaft an neuen Architekturen, die ab Mitte des Jahrzehnts auf den Markt kommen sollen. Dabei wird die Vielzahl der Steuergeräte auf einen Zentralrechner und nur noch wenige Domänen reduziert. Das "Software Defined Vehicle" soll dann Realität werden. In Verbindung mit einer Cloud können riesige Datenmengen in atemberaubender Geschwindigkeit verarbeitet werden.

Dies ermöglicht nicht nur Over-The-Air-Updates, sondern auch neue Geschäftsmodelle, indem etwa Funktionen für Licht, Fahrassistenz oder Infotainment erst nachträglich freigeschaltet werden. Zudem lässt sich ein Auto so über den gesamten Lebenszyklus frisch halten. Fast alle Hersteller haben sich zum Ziel gesetzt, mit Hilfe der so gewonnenen Daten ihren Umsatz und Gewinn deutlich zu erhöhen.

Die technologische Umsetzung läuft in vielen Unternehmen allerdings nur schleppend, da Experten und Know-How im eigenen Haus meist begrenzt verfügbar sind. Außerdem kämpfen die Hersteller gegen die Konkurrenz von Tech-Giganten. Zeit ist daher ein zentraler Faktor, um vom klassischen Autobauer oder Zulieferer zum software-getriebenen Konzern zu werden.

Wie Unternehmen diese Herausforderungen bewältigen können, erläutert ein Webinar der Automobilwoche in Zusammenarbeit mit T-Systems am 8. Dezember, 11 bis 12 Uhr. Es trägt den Titel „Fast-track to software-defined vehicle“. Dabei wird eine exklusive Studie im Auftrag von T-Systems vorgestellt. All car manufacturers are currently working feverishly on new architectures that are to be launched on the market from the middle of the decade. This will reduce the large number of control units to a central computer and only a few domains. The "Software Defined Vehicle" will then become reality. In conjunction with a cloud, huge amounts of data can be processed at breathtaking speed.

This will not only enable over-the-air updates, but also new business models in which, for example, functions for lights, driving assistance or infotainment can only be activated at a later date. In addition, a car can be kept fresh over its entire life cycle. Almost all manufacturers have set themselves the goal of significantly increasing their sales and profits with the help of the data obtained in this way.

However, many companies are slow to implement the technology, as the availability of in-house experts and know-how is usually limited. In addition, manufacturers are struggling against competition from tech giants. Time is therefore a key factor in transforming from a classic automaker or supplier into a software-driven corporation.
