Frankfurt. Die dritte Generation des X5, der Weltpremiere auf der IAA feiert, soll die Erfolgsgeschichte von BMW fortsetzen. „Mehr als 1,3 Millionen Einheiten haben wir seit 1999 verkauft. Mit gutem Grund trägt der X5 den Spitznamen „the boss“, sagte Vertriebsvorstand Ian Robertson bei der Vorstellung. „Dieses Fahrzeug ist ein echter Pionier. Der BMW X5 war das erste und ist bis heute das erfolgreichste Premium Sports Activity Vehicleder Welt. Er hat ein neues Segment begründet und sich eindrucksvoll an die Spitze gesetzt.“
Der Nachfolger wird am 16. November in den Handel eingeführt. Robertson verspricht „mehr Sportlichkeit und Komfort, weniger Verbrauch“. Der Neue kommt zum Einstiegspreis von 52.100 Euro und ist damit günstiger als sein Vorgänger. Der Grund: Die Münchner bieten zum ersten Mal einen Zwei-Liter-Vierzylinder-Diesel mit 218 PS an – diese Motorisierung gibt es auf Wunsch auch ohne Allrad-Anrieb. Im Dezember sollen sechs Motoren im Angebot sein, insgesamt umfasst die Palette dann zwei Benziner und vier Diesel mit einem Leistungsspektrum von 218 PS bis 450 PS, alle mit Acht-Gang-Automatik. Für 2015 ist nach Automobilwoche-Information eine Plug-in-Hybrid-Variante geplant.Eine entsprechende Studie stellte Entwicklungsvorstand Herbert Diess auf der IAA vor: das Concept X5 eDrive. „Mit seinem Plug-In-Hybrid Antrieb verfügt es über einen Vierzylinder-Verbrennungsmotor und einen - von uns entwickelten - E-Motor“, so Diess. Das Concept Car verfügt über 270 PS Systemleistung und einen Durchschnittsverbrauch im EU-Testzyklus von weniger als 3,8 Liter auf 100 Kilometer. Diess kündigte ferner CO2-Emissionen unter 90 Gramm pro Kilometer und eine rein elektrische Reichweite von bis zu 30 Kilometer an. Die maximale rein elektrische Geschwindigkeit liege bei 120 km/h. Der X5 e-Drive beschleunigt „von null auf hundert in weniger als sieben Sekunden“, verspricht der Technik-Chef. Das Fahrzeugt ist der erste Plug-In-Hybrid mit permanentem Allradantrieb von BMW. „Das Konzept gibt einen Vorgeschmack, wie ein entsprechendes Serienfahrzeug aussehen kann“, sagte Diess in Frankfurt.IAA
