Der von Wolf-Henning Scheider geführte Zulieferer ZF Friedrichshafen geht wie viele andere Unternehmen der Branche durch schwere Zeiten. Starke Verluste bei Umsatz und Gewinn im ersten Halbjahr kennzeichnen die Situation. Zu Scheiders Aufgaben im zweiten Halbjahr gehört es, die Produktion wieder hochzufahren, operativ in die schwarzen Zahlen zu kommen und Strukturen und Kapazitäten langfristig neu auszurichten.
Dass er den Kurs eines Unternehmens neu justieren kann, hat der 58-jährige auch schon an anderer Stelle gezeigt. Bevor er bei ZF im Februar 2018 den Chefposten übernommen hat, war er beim Zulieferer Mahle Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung. Unter seiner Ägide hat er dort die Abhängigkeiten des Anbieters von Motorkomponenten weiter verringert und die Integration des Thermospezialisten Behr vorangetrieben. Vor seinem Wechsel zu Mahle gehörte Scheider zwischen 2010 und März 2015 der Bosch-Geschäftsführung an, seit Juli 2013 war er zudem Sprecher des Unternehmensbereichs Kraftfahrzeugtechnik.
