Köln. Die Studie erklärt die Vormachtstellung der Autoindustrie mit dem kontinuierlich wachsenden Angebot an Elektrofahrzeugen. Allein 2013 seien mehr als 36 neue Hybrid- und Elektroautos in den Markt eingeführt worden. Bei Ford hätten verschiedene Faktoren zum Erfolg geführt. Interbrand nennt als Beispiele neue Umweltkomitees, ein erhöhtes Mitarbeiterengagement rund um das Thema Nachhaltigkeit, bessere Wasser-, Energie- und Emissionseffizienz sowie eine verbesserte Abfallverwertung. Der US-Autobauer habe fünf Elektrofahrzeuge in seinem Portfolio und baue seine Wasserstoff- und Brennstoffzellenforschung weiter aus. Toyota als „Pionier auf dem Gebiet der kraftstoffsparenden Technik“, wie es in der Studie heißt, ist zwar auf den zweiten Platz abgerutscht, Interbrand findet aber dennoch Positives: Toyota beteilige sich an vielen Nachhaltigkeitsaktivitäten, präsentiere sein Engagement immer transparent und erreiche dadurch sehr hohe Werte bei der Wahrnehmung. Volkswagen hingegen hat in diesem Jahr neun Plätze verloren und rutschte auf Rang 16 ab. Der Grund liegt nach Erkenntnissen der Studie auf zu geringer Berichterstattung, die Wahrnehmung sei vor allem in den USA gesunken. Neueinsteiger Chevrolet belegte beim Ranking auf Anhieb Platz 32. Grundlage der Untersuchung ist die „Best-Global-Brands“-Studie des Vorjahres, die die weltweit 100 wertvollsten Marken ermittelt. Interbrand untersucht den Abstand, der zwischen tatsächlicher nachhaltiger Unternehmensführung und der Verbraucherwahrnehmung entsteht. Dafür wurden über 10.000 Konsumenten aus den weltweit zehn größten Märkten – unter anderem USA, Japan, China und Deutschland – befragt, wie sie die Nachhaltigkeitsbemühungen der Unternehmen einschätzen.

Ford stößt Toyota vom grünen Markenthron
Automarken machen 20 Prozent der 50 weltweit umweltfreundlichsten Marken aus. Zu diesem Ergebnis kommt die Unternehmensberatung Interbrand, die zum vierten Mal die Studie „Best Global Green Brands“ veröffentlicht hat. Erstmals liegt Ford an der Spitze und verdrängte damit Toyota. Der japanische Autobauer hatte das Ranking in den vergangenen drei Jahren angeführt. Auch die Plätze drei und vier werden mit Honda und Nissan von Automobilmarken belegt.
