Maisach. Wie das Coupé bekommt auch das Cabrio einen drei Liter großen Sechszylinder-Turbo mit 431 PS, das maximale Drehmoment liegt bei 550 Newtonmetern. Nitschke wirbt für „das sportlichste Modell im Segment der offenen Hochleistungssportwagen“. Der Sprint von null auf 100 km/h dauert 4,4 Sekunden und damit 0,7 Sekunden weniger als beim direkten Vorgänger. Allerdings lässt sich dieser Standardsprint nur mit dem optional erhältlichen Siebengang- M-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe absolvieren. Die Höchstgeschwindigkeit ist auf 250 km/h limitiert, kann aber gegen Aufpreis auf 280 angehoben werden. Der Verbrauch liegt je nach Getriebevariante bei 8,7 oder 9,1 Litern, der CO2-Ausstoß beträgt 203 beziehungsweise 213 Gramm pro Kilometer. Die offene Version wurde mit einem dreiteiligen Metallfaltdach ausgestattet, das sich innerhalb von 20 Sekunden öffnet, während der Fahrt bei einer Geschwindigkeit von bis zu 18 km/h. BMW bietet den M3 seit 26 Jahren als offene Variante an. Das 215 PS starke Cabrio der ersten Generation kam 1988 auf den Markt. Die fünfte Generation wird wie der Vorgänger in Regensburg gebaut.

Rasant und offen fahren mit 431 PS
BMW führt die fünfte Generation des M4 Cabrios zum Basispreis von 78.200 Euro in den Handel ein. Das Auto steht ab dem 6. September bei den Vertriebspartnern. „Nach rund 60.000 verkauften M3 Cabrios in den vergangenen vier Generationen führt das neue M4 Cabrio die Tradition und die Philosophie der Hochleistungs- Cabrios konsequent fort“, sagt Friedrich Nitschke, Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung der BMW M GmbH. Vom Vorgänger M3, der im Frühjahr 2008 auf den Markt kam, wurden über die Laufzeit 16.200 Stück abgesetzt.
