Der BMW-Konzern stärkt seine Kompetenzen im Bereich digitaler, datengetriebener Fabrik- und Montageplanung und ist dabei ausgerechnet in der Heimat von Rivale Mercedes fündig geworden. Über seinen Venture-Capital-Arm BMW i Ventures beteiligen sich die Münchener an einem Stuttgarter Tech-Unternehmen.
So steigt BMW i Ventures nach Automobilwoche-Informationen als Investor bei Ascon Systems ein. Das 2017 gegründete High-Tech-Startup mit seinen 110 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeitern ist spezialisiert auf Digital Twins und Software-Lösungen für das industrielle Metaverse, also die virtuelle Fabrikplanung und das digitale Shopfloor-Management. BMW i Ventures erwirbt nun einen einstelligen Prozentbereich von Ascon Systems und will eng mit der Software-Firma kooperieren. Auch die Münchener Investmentgesellschaft BBA Partners gehört zu den Investoren in das Stuttgarter Tech-Start-up.
