Bescheiden geht anders: Stolze 36 Prozent mehr Lohn über die kommenden vier Jahre fordert die amerikanische Autogewerkschaft UAW für die Beschäftigten in der US-Autoindustrie. Anfangs lag die Forderung mit 40 Prozent sogar noch höher. In dieser Größenordnung seien die Einkommen des Top-Managements der großen Autokonzerne gewachsen, so die Gewerkschaft.
Die Höhe der Steigerung ist sogar für die um selbstbewusste Forderungen keineswegs verlegene deutsche IG Metall beachtlich. Diese verhandelte in der Metall- und Elektroindustrie Ende 2022 ein Plus von 5,2 Prozent in diesem und weitere 3,3 Prozent im kommenden Jahr. Macht 8,5 Prozent in zwei Jahren. Das erachten trotz einer aktuellen Inflationsrate von 4,5 Prozent viele Deutsche offenbar als zu hoch. Das belegt eine aktuelle Umfrage des Meinungsforschungsinstituts Civey im Auftrag der Automobilwoche.
Danach befragt, welche Lohnerhöhung sie angesichts der 36-Prozent-Forderung in den USA für die Beschäftigten der Autoindustrie in Deutschland über die kommenden vier Jahre für angemessen halten, nannte eine Mehrheit von 29 Prozent der Befragten einen Korridor von sechs bis zehn Prozent. Das wären maximal 2,5 Prozent pro Jahr.
