Bei Mini haben sie derzeit alle Hände voll zu tun. Schließlich entwickelt die britische BMW-Tochter gerade die nächste Generation des Kleinwagens – und stellt sich dafür völlig auf. Denn was da 2023 – natürlich rein elektrisch – an den Start gehen soll, wird nicht mehr in Eigenregie lanciert, sondern kommt gemeinsam mit Great Wall aus China und bindet zumindest aktuell entsprechend viele Ressourcen. Doch auch wenn alle ebenso neugierig wie hoffnungsfroh in die Zukunft schauen, geht der Blick für das Hier und Heute nicht verloren. Das beweisen die Mini-Macher jetzt mit einer Modellpflege, mit der sie den Drei- und den Fünftürer sowie das Cabrio fit machen wollen für den Weg über die lange Zielgerade.
Auf den ersten Blick sind es zwar nur Mini-Schritte, mit denen die wichtigsten Modelle in diesen Tagen in den Endspurt übergehen. Denn unter der Haube ändert sich gar nichts und beim Fahrwerk braucht man schon ein sehr empfindliches Popometer, um die frequenzselektiven Dämpfer heraus zu fahren. Doch dafür tut sich umso mehr beim Anzeige- und Bedienkonzept, bei Assistenz und Ausstattung und vor allem beim Auftritt, der bei einer derart extrovertierten Marke wie Mini natürlich besonders wichtig ist.
Deshalb erkennt man die neuen Mini-Modelle auf Anhieb an einer retuschierten Bugschürze mit einem leicht schmollenden Kühlergrill, der geänderten Verkleidung am Heck sowie den nun serienmäßigen LED-Leuchten an der Front und dem ebenfalls zum Standard erhobenen Union-Jack in den Rückleuchten. Außerdem gibt es für Drei- und Fünftürer eine neuartige Lackierung, bei der die Farben im Dach verlaufen.
