Toyota wird in Europa ab Mitte 2024 auch große Nutzfahrzeuge anbieten. Dazu hat der japanische Hersteller eine Kooperation mit Stellantis vereinbart. Die beiden Hersteller arbeiten bereits bei kompakten und mittelgroßen Transportern zusammen. Nun folgt noch eine große Nutzfahrzeugbaureihe. Das neue Modell soll auch als batterieelektrische Version erhältlich sein.
Mit dem neuen Modell will Toyota sein Angebot im Nutzfahrzeugbereich in Europa vervollständigen. "Das neue Modell wird einen wichtigen Beitrag zu den Wachstumszielen von Toyota im Bereich der leichten Nutzfahrzeuge leisten und Toyota in die Lage versetzen, in allen Segmenten des LCV-Marktes eine Mobilitätslösung anzubieten", sagte Matt Harrison, Präsident und CEO von Toyota Motor Europe. Die Kooperation soll Produktions- und Entwicklungskosten sparen.
