Stellantis will in Nordamerika zu einem führenden Anbieter von Elektroautos werden und startet deshalb dort im ersten Quartal 2024 den Verkauf seines Fiat 500 Elektro.
In einem offiziellen Präsentationsvideo auf YouTube stellte Fiat-Markenchef Olivier Francois am Mittwoch persönlich den Fiat 500 E vor. "Das ist Europas jüngstes Juwel - und er hat Europa im Sturm erobert", wirbt Francois darin. Und er versichert mit breitem Lächeln: "Man kann den Fiat 500 Elektro nicht fahren, ohne automatisch zu lächeln."
Fiat verwandelte für das Video das 112 Meter hohe Eventgebäude "Sphere" bei Las Vegas in eine knallrote Halbkugel, analog zur Einführungsversion "500 E Red" in Nordamerika. Vor der Sphere sagte Francois: "Der 500 E ist nicht nur gebaut aus Gummi, Kunststoff, Glas und Metall - sondern auch aus Italien."
Zu den Verkaufserwartungen an den Kleinwagen in Nordamerika äußerte sich ein Sprecher von Fiat nicht gegenüber der Automobilwoche. "Das ist sicher kein Fahrzeug, um von Küste zu Küste zu fahren", sagte er. Der 500 E sei aber als Fahrzeug für die großen US-Metropolen ideal.
