Der VW-Konzern hat einen neuen Anlauf unternommen, die Einführung der Abgasnorm Euro 7 zumindest zu verzögern. Sie solle frühestens im Herbst 2026 statt wie bisher geplant im Sommer 2025 in Kraft treten, schlagen die Wolfsburger in einem Positionspapier vor, wie die Nachrichtenagentur Reuters berichtet. Das würde dem Unternehmen Zeit geben, seine Fahrzeuge entsprechend umzurüsten.
Die Abgasnorm Euro 7 wird von der Autobranche abgelehnt. Sie würde die Autos deutlich teurer machen, Kleinwagen wären dann nicht mehr profitabel, argumentieren die Hersteller. Das Geld, das nun in die Modernisierung der Verbrenner investiert werden müsste, sei in der Entwicklung von Elektroautos besser angelegt.
