BMW führt auf seinen europäischen Märkten ein Agenturmodell ein, auch auf dem deutschen Heimatmarkt. Darüber informierte der Hersteller seine Handelspartner am vergangenen Freitag. Damit will BMW den "sich ändernden Kundenerwartungen, der voranschreitenden Digitalisierung und dem Ausbau des Online-Verkaufs von Fahrzeugen Rechnung tragen", wie eine BMW-Sprecherin auf Anfrage der Automobilwoche mitteilte. Ziel sei ein "nahtloses, durchgängiges digitales und physisches Premium-Kundenerlebnis."
Laut BMW-Händlerverbandschef Peter Reisacher wurde den Händlern als Ziel darüber hinaus auch eine bessere Preisdurchsetzung – sprich das Eindämmen des Intrabrand-Wettbewerbs – genannt.
Als Starttermine hat der Münchner Automobilhersteller das Jahr 2024 vorgesehen, zunächst mit Mini, zwei Jahr später soll die Kernmarke folgen. Das erfuhr Automobilwoche aus Händlerkreisen. BMW selbst wollte sich nicht dazu äußern. Das sei erst möglich, wenn man sich mit den Händlern auf die Details geeinigt habe. "Autohaus Online" berichtete zuerst über die Umstellung.
